Last Friday, I had the opportunity to meet up with the owner of Studio on Fire, Ben Levitz in Minneapolis. He showed me and my husband around the studio and let me just say this....when I saw that wall covered with all their letterpressed pieces, my eyes glazed over and felt like I was in design heaven! Even my husband discovered a new found respect for letterpress studios and for a split second, he considered giving up his medical career to become a printer. Haha! right. Studio on Fire was beyond what I imagined to be! Thanks Ben for the tour! And don't forget to check out their blog here!
And now time for me to shut up and show you some pictures:
entrance to their studio:
This is the part where my eyes glazed...
And this is what made my husband's eyes glaze over...those beer cans!
I used to be a Graphic Designer at www.budge.com when I lived in Los Angeles. We did a lot of letterpress there, I fell in love with it when I worked there.
What a fun tour!
PS. In response to your comment about the Tea Cake, are you on Facebook? I have the recipe up on my personal Facebook page. If you have one, look me up! I think I am the only Dionne Christiansen on Facebook.
*gasp!* Those lace invites fourth from the top... They are insanely beautiful! It looks like you had a great tour, I wish there were studios like that around here!
things are great here! Started the blog couple of weeks ago so needs some work. All your smitten stuff is pretty cool, keep up the good design and good blog.
