We are due for a MAJOR snow storm. In like, a few hours...or so that is what the grocery lady tells me while she was bagging all my macaron ingredients.
The nice ol' grocery lady: "are ya stocking up for the major snow storm?"
me: "err...what snow storm?"
The nice ol' grocery lady: *GASP* "young lady...haven't you been watching the news?"
me: "um...no. I haven't"
The nice ol' grocery lady: "Is this what you are stocking up? Just baking ingredients?"
me: "well, I..."
The nice ol' grocery lady: (pointing back into the main part of the store) "you better get your fanny back in there and stock up on some REAL food! You'll need flashlights, batteries and lots of water too"
me: "ok. I'll be back in an hour"
The nice ol' grocery lady: "Atta' girl! Aren't you so happy that school's out?"
me: (sooo confused...) "what?"
The nice ol' grocery lady: "Aren't ya a student over at West High School?"
me: "I will be 29 next month!" I stammered.
The NOT so nice ol' grocery lady: (Cackling at me) "HAHA, oh my dear, you look like you're a high school student!"
ANNOYED me: "you look like you are going on 310!" (Nah, just said this to her in my head).
Ugh, reluctantly, I did as I was told. I stocked up on groceries for this "MAJOR" snow storm. I can't believe I got sassed my an old grocery lady...and she said "fanny". I haven't heard that word in a long, long time.
But in the meantime, I am going to be very busy whipping up these for xmas care packages for my dear friends and family. Will post final result pictures. This should lift my spirits...
